My Water World
The “My Water World” project was held in conjunction with International Children’s Week, with the participation of the Women’s Institute, the Neighborhood Development Office, and the Khazaneh Cultural Center.
In this program, children had the opportunity to learn about the role of water in life and the need to care for it in a happy and interactive atmosphere through creative and participatory activities, including murals on the theme of water and nature, origami, and pottery.
By relying on learning through play, experience, and art, this program attempted to provide a platform for fostering children’s creativity and strengthening their sense of responsibility for nature and its valuable resources.
Educational objectives of the program
Understanding the uses of water: Understanding the role of water in drinking, washing, plant growth, and animal life.
Understanding the importance of saving water: Understanding that water is a valuable resource and should not be consumed unnecessarily.
Identifying simple behaviors to conserve water: Practicing tasks such as turning off the tap when brushing your teeth and avoiding playing with drinking water.
Connecting water to nature: Recognizing the role of water in the greening of plants and the continuation of the life of living beings.
Enhancing creative expression of learning: Encouraging children to express their perceptions of water and nature through painting, pottery, and origami.
Practicing participation and collaboration: Experiencing group art activities, taking turns, and participating in creating a joint work.
These goals are designed to suit the 5- and 6-year-old age group and can be assessed by talking to children, observing their participation, and examining their artwork.
The Women's Institute believes that awareness and responsibility begin in childhood; where learning is accompanied by experience, creativity, and joy.
